So i know it isnt me, for when i get into the prone position i can put a bullet in a mans size head in between his eyes out to 500 meters when i was in the Marines. So i know its not me. Well i have delt with randys many of times. Somethings we dont see eye to eye on like randy saids that bucks shot is only good for out to 50 yards. I know from first hand experience that i can drop deer in its tracks out to 77 yards with ease in open terrain. But thats niether here nor there. I wish my other scope wasnt messed up, for i hate not having my muzzeloader for deer hunting. For i hunt state land and need a gun that will hit 200 yards with ease. I wouldnt trust a slug to go that far. Well atleast with none of my guns. So I am going to take it back there and ask for a new scope or have them bore sight it. Thanks for the info and help.

Also, when you take it back, you should check to see what other brands of scopes they have - tell them you've lost faith in Swift given your original crapped out and the NIB model is crap from the get go. Swift isn't really all that great of a scope brand anymore. They used to be decent, and the premier lineup was a good buy for the money, but the recent versions leave a lot to be desired (I think they went out of business and the name was bought, but don't quote me on that). They are better than the BSA/Barska/Tasco/other china made cheapos, but not by much, and they fall short of many in their price class. Nikon has a few scopes out in the same price range. The Burris Fullfield II scopes are very nice (the FFII in 2x7 with the #4 reticle is really nice), as are the Bushnell elite 3200, or even a Leupold VX-I. Lots of decent optics in the $165-$225 range to chose from. All of them will give better, less critical eye relief and a more forgiving eye box. You're only problem might be the selection and time. if you had time to surf there are a lot of screaming deals out there, but with 10 days to sort it out you're a bit stuck.

Hey UPHIKER you surely dont know what your talking about. For the full choke barrel isnt it just the last six inches. 50 yards with my 30 inch barrel my pattern dont even start to realy open up at that distance. I shot a 160 pound doe last year at 77 yards and dropped it where it stood. I wont use a slug, for i have my muzzleloader, and where i hunt i primerly use my 12 gauge for you cant throw slugs in the brush. I laugh at folks that come to my neck of the woods and try to hunt where i hunt in the brush. I have watch many guns shoot at deer in the brush and watch them miss cause there slugs got thrown off by the brush. Where buckshot i have shot deer with a 2 ich sampling in the middle of his vital and shot right through it and drop the deer. Buckshot just shredded the tree. Not slugs are only good for open terrain and not the brush. But hey you can take your rifle barrel and come to the brush. I will shoot the deer as you miss it with your slug.

I don't want to get in the middle of a pissing match, but the choke only affects the last few inches of the barrel. Remington never made a factory barrel with a full choke all the way to the bore. This (or something similar) is referred to as a forcing cone and only comes with aftermarket barrels or barrel retrofits..

well then
Well I dont know about the chokes. Or how they are made. But i do know that i have a remington 870 ultra mag and 870 wingmaster. My wingmaster will out shoot the ultra mag with the same rounds or even if i use the 3.5 inch shells. The only difference between the two guns is the ultra mag has the screw in choke and is only 28 inch barrel. Where the wingmaster is a 30 inch full choke barrel. My wingmaster with the same load and same choke as the ultra mag will shoot farther and tighter patterns. Thats why i only use the ultra mag for small game is waterfowl. I am not sure if i can shoot steel shot out of my wingmaster, for i dont want to damage the barrel since it was made before the time of steel shot. But if i could then i wouldn't need to buy a 10 guage with a 3.5 inch chamber for long distance shots on geese. I think my ultra mag can only throw copper plated 000 buck to about 50 to 55 yards after that its no good. Where my wingmaster has a nice semi tight pattern out to 80 yards. You can say what you want, but i wish they would just get rid of those screw in chokes and go back to making them the way they used to do. Without have to be always changing chokes. Just guns with different choke barrells.
