Bowhunting
Am I the only one hunting? The archery season has been open for 2 weeks and I have yet to see any deer pic.s on here. Post your pics.
I have not killed a deer yet this year but have seen a lot just can't close the deal on one yet.

Shot a doe first day out. Didn't post pics though. I think mostly everyone is posting on the hunting section. Wish more people cared about bowhingting!

First time bow hunting success...
Dusted off new 11 year-old 1998 Hoyt Raptor, updated single pin Cobra sight and QAD drop down rest. Practiced all summer. Hunted this buck for 4 days after I first saw him on Halloween night. Set up mock scrapes which he was hitting by day 3 (watched him by moonlight 10 feet away). Next morning he was hitting a mock scrape 50 yards away, let off a grunt call and he charged in roaring. He held up at the tree line then stalked out in front of me from downwind (thank you Code Blue on wicks). I knew he was a shooter and thought he was a 6 point, cuz I stopped looking at his head and was concentrating hard on that quarter sized piece of fur on the chest. I was pleasantly surprised when I found him 30 yards away an hour later. I'm hooked. Gun hunting will never be the same. This guy is deserving of a shoulder mount in my book. (He was shot below the spine clean through about 10 days earlier with a gun by poachers.)

Broadheads on buck...
Muzzy MX-3's. It was a little quartered away so 1 blade shaved in a bit. I've taken 2 deer this year with them. Straight pass through shots in the chest cavity that buried 3-4 inches into hard ground on the other side. My bow only has a 55lb draw. They work great for me.. huge blood trails, never more than 30 yards away. It really depends on how they shoot out of your bow. They are very exacting, like the field points out of mine. I have no complaints with them.
