Last full weekend before deer season
Who's all heading up? How's the season going so far?
Heading up in a couple minutes, hoping to get out and hunt hard all day tomorrow and Sunday morning for one last weekend before the snow falls.

I was up last weekend. Birds (grouse) were few and far between... BUT we had about 20 minutes of nice weather over 3 days. Guess I picked the wrong weekend!
I'm home this weekend, but up next for a grouse/deer hunting weekend!

As long as the wife doesn't threaten my head for doing it, I'll be hunting tomorrow with my younger pup. I don't have high hopes with it being late in the season and all, not to mention his performance in the past when compared to my 2 year old dog, but I figure I started the season with him so I'll end it with him (assuming the snow comes in force in December that is).

I think this is the best weekend of the year. Cover is down. Birds have calmed down quite a bit and hunting pressure is down. I had more good dog work in the last week than the 3 weeks before that. Headed up north with some new friends tomorrow, hopefully my puppy won't make me look too much like a fool.

I'm headed North tomorrow to do a little hunting over my trial dog along with his handler (thank God he shoots good enough for the both of us! ). Afterward, Rock's coming home for a little well-deserved pampering.

Coupled with the fact that every weekend that I HAVE managed to hunt this season has been cold and rainy!
I'm just kidding though, I hope you have a great time.

You're not going to pull the ole "there's something wrong with my gun" bit again are you Mike? Just kidding of course. Did you ever figure out why your Citori wouldn't go off?

Hey Mr. two for two, my logic is that if I don't shoot, I can't miss!
After I returned home, I dry fired it a few times (yes, I know I should get some snap caps) and it appeared to be fine?
I think I'll haul two guns for the remainder of the year though.
