Good gosh, if you don't want others to know where you hunt, DON"T POST IT. Pretty simple really. Piss on the cyber scouters. Don't give the information their looking for and they'll go away. AS for things that would be usefull on this site, besdies all the yapping about posting wheather or not to list what firggin county etc.? 4 friggin pages of yapping about posting where you hunting or not? Nuff said. I think Russel get's the idea!
How about adding sections that would be helpfull to any waterfowl hunter who happens on this site. Like sub sections as in these listed below?
1. How about a recipe section AKA Killin and Griillin
2. Tips and tactics to use for puddles, divers, geese etc. Decoy spread etc.
3. Non outdoor related discussions Politics funny stuff etc.
4. A decoy carvers section for wood/corky lovers (tips and tricks of the trade to help people who are new to carving)
5. Mud motor section?
6. Diver only section?
All of these sub sections could be under the heading of waterfowl?
The list could go on, but what i'm getting at is, make this forum, the Premier waterfowling forum. I have lots of other ideas as well but will wait until I get flamed for these.

As a beginner, I agree. I am looking for general information that pertains to our state and regions of our state. Just to make sure that I am on the right track. I wouldn't even ask for specific info. Duck hunting is a lot of work - too valuable to steal. I would be ashamed to act on specific info without an invitation.
I have been scouting a lot lately. I think I found a good spot today, on my own, in the middle of nowhere. I now have to decide what to do as there are two or three permanent blinds on the 40 acre marsh. Do I barge in or "ask" first?

First off ? Find out if it's private ground or not. I cannot see anyone building a permanent blind on state owned property.......marsh ! Another tidbit is you can count on it being someone local to the area. Someone's little honey hole in an out of the way place. I would tread easily, be humble and play it by ear. I would not expect open arms, good luck.......

Ottawa Marsh...lots of permanent blinds..but marsh is a little bigger than 40 acres but still has quite a lot of those blinds, but they have been there forever with no names and just spots locals build up for weekdays and other things.

So there own little honey spots huh ?......Suppose I'd do the same if I lived near by. Still a place to tread easy tho.........A guy on his own could get into a sticky situation real quick. Like purple paint on tree's down in swamp land.......

Ya I cant really explain it to much, but when we were being checked by the CO opening weekend he even asked us what blind we were in..Told him the name and hes even knew what one it was..It seems like from the style of hunting there for example the hole we were in there all common spots and people(many people) over the years have made little modification to make it more comfortable.
Anyways I like the subsection idea a lot..Thanks SMOKE!

Like to see less smart ***** quips to legit questions (all are legit if it is a question). Like to see the inane personal chatter between members handled by PMs-

delete every post that starts with or its main topic is skybusting and \ or complaining about public land. i hate when people just bring up a topic no one likes, then all it does is starts the same rant about how these ya hoos did it, these gus can shoot birds from 2492458925 miles out and are pretty sure they were decoying. and the public land crap talking sucks, people dont apreciate what we have at all and it sucks.
thanks
tony
ps most info and people on this site are good but there are always bad eggs

I find this to be the best waterfowl site I frequent. Lots of topics everyday. Some good...some bad. Easy to sift thru when there are lots of new threads everyday. Mods do a good job. There a definitly some guys who you have to take with a grain of salt on here. You know who you are... . But overall good stuff and the sqaubbles keep it interesting. Most times its all good debate...just dont get personal.

Several years ago most if not all the blinds the dnr could find were burned where they sat. Took out two of mine. There are still a few in there, that were made from steel. And a few that they didn't get to.
Most of the people who hunted them still hunt there in the same spot. Most have names that people call them, Kooze hole, killer hole three trees, a hole, north pool, the floater etc. sort of funny really. I live on the river by the Ottawa about a 5 minute boat ride to the lower part of the marsh. I hunt it quite a bit. So you may hear or see me sometime!
Oh......... by the way: EVERYONE STAY AWAY FROM THE OTTAWA MARSH! IT"S MINE MINE ALL MINE. Just kidding come on down and enjoy the fun and festivities. It can be a fun time! The water is high right now so the woods are flooded? TMI or what?
