Default maumee river

just a report for all you guys who fish the maumee. put the boat in at walbridge park(across from the toledo zoo) and fished on and off to the lake. marked alot of fish in the shipping channels but none to interested in hitting. then proceded to fish the edge of the channel out to turtle island area with no success. then did some stickbait slow trolling out past cedar point(yes outside the single hook area) with no avail. one 12 inch perch for 9 hours fishing. fish are not even close to stacking up yet. found a few scattered fish in 12 fow by cedar point and two holes in the river but nothing to write home. Thanks to gary at Maumee tackle for the map and the info on key areas, he runs a class A shop. Talked to anglers wading the normal rapids areas and the concencess was 2 more weeks. river temps 45-46 degrees, lake temps 45-49 depending on the depths and water clarity.

After reading his post again I think he must be referring to Little cedar Point which is much closer than the amusemant park.

check here: http://www.maumeetackle.net/id19.htm

i usually go to orleans park or on the other side at side cut. when your on that page get directions to the bait shop and go in there. they can tell you every spot you want to know of. good luck

Default Maumee River

Chartruese, white, pink, black, it all depends on the day. Somedays it doesn't matter. It should be combat fishing at it's best this weekend.
