Another weekend spent in Northern MI. My Friend Travis and his family came down from Marquette to just south of the bridge for what we were hoping was a little cat hunting weekend. The cat hunting was miserable do to the conditions. Rock solid snow doesn't make for very good cat dogging. We did manage to kill a coyote and then some the girls acting interested in hunting with the dogs so at 3pm in the afternoon we packed them back up and tried to jump another coyote which we did. We ended up running the coyote until dark but were unable to see the coyote cross at any time which was disappointing. But both girls seemed to really enjoy themselves. After picking up the dogs we were lucky enough to spot two bull elk and the we watched them until dark in a clear cut as they fed and seemed to be enjoying the decent weather. A great weekend in the northwoods!
