I used to hang tarsal glands in a tree near my stand and had some deer come up and smell them, had some smaller bucks spook form them too. Has any one used them to try to get scent in a scrape? Maybe cutting some of the hairs off and putting those in a scrape? Maybe hanging it on a stick and peeing on it in a scrape? I have steeped them in hot water to make a tarsal gland tea to spray into scrapes.
Minimal - got a few off road kills a few years back, sealed them in a plastic bag (buck and doe) and used as a drag line. Never had any luck, but that's just my one time experience.
Yes! Find an active scrape, put it in the scrape, roll it around a little. And put that stinky thing back in the bag. With in 24 hours you will have a pi**ed off buck checking that whole area for that buck. Only tried it once and that is what happened
Buddy of.mine cut one off of another friends buck. Hung it that night and shot a young 8 point that was coming to it.
