I have 15 acres up north and am contemplating a ladder stand. Curious as to how soon before the season that I should install it in the area that I am going to hunt.
I have about a 1/4 acre food plot. I have been out of the bow hunting side for over 20 years and just got my first crossbow.
make sure you have it properly camouflaged, no problems with silhouetting, etc. I have learned from a few years of doing this that placement is crucial for success!
I scratched my name and phone number on my stand a long with a thick cable lock ...can't remember is your address is required too or if you need any on private land.

If you are hunting public land, your name and address must be on the stand in letters legible from the ground. No need for name and address on public land.
