How many members plan on fishing the tourny on sun. on Holloway? Don't know any of your names or what kind of boats you run. I'll be in a black 17' Lund Explorer SS, 115 Merc. Bought it from Chapmans just after last years event. My first ever tourny, my partner (brother-in-law) and I figured we'd try it once just to say we did it. Good luck to all!

Bill I'm not sure but I think there may be spots open. They had a blurb in the paper last weekend saying it was still open. I'd call chapmans. If I had known Goby Hunter was still looking for a partner I wouldn't have fed him the info all week!

Scott and Bob it was nice to put a name with a face this weekend. If you're wondering which one I was. I was in that Marroon 1900 pro-v.(the kid) My name is Kal. Fishing with the ugly guy...lol my dad. We finished 2nd with 12.42 pounds. First place was 13 and some change. Tournament was very well organized. Enjoyed it and will fish it again next year. If you ever see me on the water say hi.

Ok so we know how Kal 'the man' percheye did, How did everyone else do?
Percheye is the man, he somehow manages to get his girlfriend out for prefishing, I saw her driving the boat in traffic, and tending lines....and then he goes and cashes a check too....way to go dude. (and yeah I knew that was you and your Dad) 12lbs was a great catch today.
By my rough count off the board we were 19th out of 60 with 5lbs and change for our 3 Small-eyes.
I caught a big fish on saturday, must have used up all that luck. I was pulling cranks out there all week tearing them up (with zillions of dinks), but we found a good bite bouncing green harnesses so we chose that route instead. Gold/black was the ticket on cranks for me all week, Did anyone run that today?
Bob popped a keeper in the first 10 minutes and I thought it would be a good day, but with the water being cooked by the sun, the boat traffic, our fish decided to not cooperate after that first half hour. Our first spot also had absolutely no wind so that kind of sucked once the sun got high. We split all our time on 2 spots today if you don't count the one pass we made with some cranks. Caught our fair share of 14.5'' make-ya-wanna-stretch-em fish. Northland real-image baitfish blades in Chart. with Chart hooks worked well for me and Chamookman aka Lobsterman got all his fish with the same harness only with powerbait. At least I didn't have to resort to jiggin :) :)
It was not a good day to be a fair-skinned person on the water. Note to self: buy more clothing specifically for fishing, like some of those lightweight breathable things. I had to wear jeans or else I knew I'd cook my legs too....it was hot but at least the only part of me to get 2nd degree burns was my arms and neck...and it hurts too. But Chamook really got broiled, I had to turn him over with the BBQ tongs twice. Brutal sunshine. We look like a walking advertisement for SPF45.
The resevoir can be a frustrating place that is for sure, but there's walters in there, I'm sure of it.

Help....... it HURTS to type ! Yikes - I haven't been this sunburned in many years. Kinda walking like the "Tin Man". The bad thing is I had a tube of SPF 40 stuff in the glovebox of the boat and didn't use it (EW - don't want to get that stuff on My hands while I'm fishing  ) - OK, no more whining - lesson learned :bash: . Like to say "good job" to Bruce Pettingill and His partner for thier win. Nice meeting You too percheye, You and Your Dad a fine job also! Thanks also to Chapmans and the Saginaw Bay Walleye Club for the use of the wiegh-in trailer. Lobster Man. PS - Scotty, We'll get You that jig fish yet  !

We ended up 7th with 10.54. Had my 10 year old son with me so it was a great day. Now he has the tournament bug. What could be better.

Glad you guys enjoyed the tournament. If you do have the tournament bug now, I think you would enjoy the GNWC tournaments. The entry fee is $210 and the payout is running around $1800 for 1st with about 50 boats. There are 2 tournaments left this year, June 26th at Hubbard Lake and July 24th at Au Gres. The stae championship is Aug. 23 and 24 at Gun Lake. Go to www.walleyecup for more info.

I am fishing the whole GNWC as a national team with my brother in law. Next year I may have my son as my partner. That is the perfect circuit for father in son. Percheye was that you next to me at the beach at weigh in. I was in the gray Pro V.

We finished with only one fish, 1.8 lbs. caught at 7:00 am, several 14"fish. I heard most of the winning fish came from up near Columbiaville, was that true? We also caught several nice fish during the week in the main lake. Does anyone know if the results will be in the Flint Journal?

I prefished up there but couldn't buy a fish over 14.75 inches long. There was fish caught up there during the tourney though. Those fish are constantly moving so once you figure them out let me know. :D
