Looking for a Houghton Lake report

I was thinking of heading to Houghton Lake this weekend and was wondering if anyone was having any luck up there? Any info would be appriciated.

Eric...I might be up there this weekend also. Where are you going to be?

A couple of buddies and I are just going to go up for the day leaving real early Sat. morning. We are going to rent a boat since another buddy is using my boat this weekend. Do you have a two-way radio? Maybe we could give reports while we were out there. Are you going up for the whole weekend?

My brother was up there sat. Fished all around the lake. Ended up at north end fishing slip bobbers and leaches caught 4 walleye 3 keepers and 2 big bluegill. try to find the weeds. Good Luck!!

Fished up there this past sat. morning. Water temp was at 59, cool for this time of year. West end of the lake by the launch in 10 foot of water, with green 1/8 oz jigs and leeches. Find the weeds in 10 foot of water and you should do fine. Only picked up 2, but boat problems forced a short trip. Good luck to you, and post a report or PM me and let me know how you do.

Sorry for the late report but I was unable to make the trip to Houghton Lake until today. We started out at around 7:00 and fished all day, catching mostly hammer handle pike and a few bass. We tried everything in our boxes, trying to locate some walleye but we had no luck. Had a hard time keeping the pike off the line. Oh well it was still nice to get out and enjoy the day. I'm sure I'll make it out again this year and hopefully I will be able to find those 'eyes.
