Fishing partner bagged out on me so I was solo for todays Michigan opener. My first stop was due west of toledo light, and the lines were in the water by 7:30. But after an hour without a bump (one sublegal was on the end of line behind a board but I never knew he was there) I decided to make a move. Do I go explore Michigan waters which are now open? Or stick with the tried and true? It was a beautiful morning on the water....so I'm gonna run!:D Go back to an area just west of W. Sister that was hot for me (and everyone else - no big secret) this weekend. Immediately start to catching. 24-26 FOW. 6 fish limit in under 2 hours, with about 5 shorts and 2 whites. Again the spoons behind jet divers were the lure of choice today. Reef Runners behind jets did well too. Nothing on meat. Keepers were all about 20-24 inches.
Still need to work the Michigan waters. Moonlightings report about bigger fish may force me to do it sooner rather than later:tdo12: !
