Manistee Lake

Could anyone give a report on Manistee Lake. Heading that way in a couple weeks. What should I fish for? Thanks, DuV:fish:

Go somewhere else. :lol: I've only fished it once and that was a couple of years ago. Weird lake, not much of anything for weed structure when I was there.

I fished it this past weekend and caught 2 keeper walleye and 5 nice crappie 12-13".

Used to fish it a lot in years past. Found plenty of eyes but they were tricky to find. Almost to a fish all were suspended. Did well on eyes trolling crawler harnesses about 10 foot down over 20fow. Also some huge specs can be found with a little hunting, also usally suspended on the east side of the lake.

Also there are some monster pike in the lake. If pays to take a day and just go to the north end weedy areas and start throwing the biggest body bait lures you have and hang on. It was not uncommon to pull in 10 to 15 lb pike on a regular basis. Found that the biggest ugliest body bait lures you can find do the trick. I am not a pike afficiando but they sure can be a blast to try and boat.:SHOCKED:

just got back: losts of rock bass...caught alot of nice pike by the water tower side..and slamed some perch by the sunken dock by the big blue pole barn

I don't think you are talking about the same Manistee Lake.
Where is the one at that you fished on?
