My friend Scott(right), our friend and taxidermist Eric(center), and I after a 3 hour shoot on a local river.
We motored up stream early in the morning, then slowly drifted our way back down. We drifted all the shallows, and used the trolling motor to move around in the backwaters.
These are the fish we were able to boat. We also stuck, and lost 3 carp, 2 gar, 2 sheephead, and 1 sucker. That is eight more that we had arrows in, but they managed to pull off on the retrieve. Not to mention all the misses.
The suckers were everywhere on the shallow gravel beds, but those things are hard to hit. When they decide to go..they go fast.
It was a great day on the water!!!! I can't wait to get back out again. We were hoping to tomorrow, but I don't think the weather will cooperate.

A bad day on the river, is better than a good day at work. :evilsmile Congradulations, gentlemen! Looks like you guys had a great time.

Yes, the carp (IMO) were just starting to spawn on the river.
We saw allot of suckers, but they are spooky and very fast.

Those two gar were small, but my buddy Scott was on fire, he was hitting everything, except suckers...lol

We did not see many gar, I think 4 in all.

The 2 sheephead both pulled off the arrow on the retrieve, but we like those. We are going to start collecting the stones from them. Any one ever see those?

Oh, yea. I was told that if I had any nads at all I would admit to a very nice head shot......on a log... Looked like a carp to me..
