Well I've been talking about it for about a month on the chat to a few of you and at times I had my doubts as to whether or not I could pull it off but I finally made and closed the deal on my new Bass boat.

She's a '91 MonArk 17.5 foot Legend 180V Bass boat with a 90 hp Merc and EZloader trailer. As you can tell from the "before" pics, a raccoon (or more) had decided to take up residence in it for quite some time and did some pretty good damage. Luckily it was just to the seats and made some obvious mess on the carpet but 3/4 of a bottle of concentrated Simple Green and a power washer took care of that. ;) I picked her up yesterday and spent about 6-7 hours cleaning her up and then went to BPS this morning and bought some new seats. Still a couple of minor issues to deal with but she'll be ready to launch shortly. Here's some before and after pics....

Well, what do ya think ?

I think she cleaned up pretty good ! ;) And with that 90 on there, I'm betting she gets at least 45 mph. Gonna be fun !

See ya on the water.

Nice work John, I like the high back seats. Where did you get em???? I like all of the storage on that machine. Looks like you may take up the jiggin routine on the mighty Detroit and bring home the groceries. Remember keep it verticle. :) On another note, what are you going to name her?????

Ken,

Thanks ! I got the seats at Bass Pro Shops in Auburn Hills. The seats are Wise brand and I thought they looked like a good deal at the marked $49.99. But when I went to the checkout, they rang up at $39.99. I guess they were on sale but not marked that way. ;)

Just this afternoon I realized that I need to come up with a name....

Time to put my thinking cap on ! :)

Darrin,
I knew somebody would notice that !
Hey, didn't you know "Duct tape makes the world go 'round" ?

Actually I did notice that there was some black tape on the trolling motor before I picked it up but that wasn't enough for me to kill the deal. I still got a good price. At this point I'm shopping for a new Minn Kota 55lb bow mount. I probably shouldn't, but if I can find a good deal I'm gonna pick one up. The one on there now is a 34 lb Motorguide. That may be ok for little inland lakes, but I don't think it'll be enough for LSC.

I haven't had it on the water yet but am thinking I may launch for the Musky opener next weekend. We've just gotta see how PT goes this week. I'm gonna wait a few days before making my final decision. It's been a long road to get to the point I'm at in my recovery and I don't want to risk further damage and an even longer recovery period.

Will report how she does once I do get her out.

Nice craft John! I know you've been eyeing this one. You're like me, you see it, you want it...it's yours! Congrats.

I hope you got the sympathy price!

Remember...this boat is for fishing,.....not racing!

Maybe the Bandit? First because of the coon you found in there, second because I know what you paid for that boat...

Red Green would be proud.

I see that you have to continue hemmoraging cash. You need some Berts tubes and a Big Jon planer mast before the opener.:evilsmile
