smelt help!

Thinkin' about heading up to the river to give smelt dipping a shot (first time). Can anyone help me out with some info (where to go, how to clean them). I'll go pick up a dip net from Anderson's pro bait tommorrow. Any tips you guys can give would be greatly appreciated!

Cleaning is the easy part. All you need is a good pair of game shears/scissors and a few pops ;) . If you don't plan on getting out a lot you may want to try to hook up w/ somebody and go in on a net. There is a heavy current in most places there and the nets are a little pricey.
