Well, I just got the boat launched this week and had my first day off from work. Headed across the ditch and tried for Perch but the action was pretty slow although we were catching a few. Decided to leave fish to find fish which bit me in the butt again. After 25 miles of searching, ended up going back to the 1st spot and picked away at a few more. Jr wanted to try for some Walleye so we worked in tight on the US side and got some small ones but did manage to catch 6 keepers. We didn't whack em today but came home with a respectable catch. Here's a pic of the cooler: BTW, all the new gadgets I added this year didn't do squat, it came down to 40+ years fishing this lake that caught a few fish! and a couple good reports from friends! :p

Nice job. Not a bad way to start off :) . I heard the same comment on the radio about all the gear and gadgets, don't think it was you since I was by metro and only have a hand held. Kind of funny though. Lots to be said for expirience and knowing the lake. Maybe I should spend my money on gas and explore a little more and not worry about upgrades so much (except the radio):dizzy: .

Hmmmmm........looks like a picture of one of Michrina's coolers. You sure you got that boat ot float. I still haven't seen any pictures of it in the water !
Glad you made it out John and back safely. Goes to show you all the gadgets in the world don't hold a candle to experience and networking information among friends. Nice catch. ;)

Good deal John. congrats on a cooler full of yummy! So I'm dying to find out ...how did your fish finder worked. I know there are not a lot of weeds to pick up but were you able to pick perch sitting on the bottom and also how did your new radar work. I would think you'll need to spend time with both to get the max gain out of them. I did what you did left fish to find fish (why do we do that :bash: ) but all I found was silver bass when I went looking

Great Job on the fish John,

I figured with that new eletronic stuff you fried all the weeds in the lake when you powered up.....

Thanks guys! I think I still have a big learning curve in front of me on the new electronics. It seemed everytime I was making progress on setting them up I would hit a button and change everything. Oh well, it's hard to fish and play with elecronics at the same time. Next week is the Muskie opener so that should give me lots of time to fiddle! :p 1fife, that Perch is about 13 1/2 inches and the Walleye weren't much bigger. :yikes: Joeker, I had the rig 1/2 way cleaned up but now it's kind of trashed again. Next time I spruce her up a bit, I'll snap a couple pics. :) BTW, that is Ed's cooler. I went into his gallery and copied it! ;) :p

Yup.............just as I thought ! :D Besides with all that new electronic hardware yours would have been pre-cooked. :p Glad it's all working out. :D

Headed for PH myself for a little shoooooooore fishing. Will post when I get back. Hope to meet up with fasteight.
