Look at these photos

I am not the least bit mechanically inclined. When I was strapping down the boat at the launch this morning I noticed this hose coming out of my outboard had broke. Not sure when it happened or how. Does anyone recognize what this is? I have a 2 stroke 115hp Mercury. Pic 1 is the whole hose (in center of pic), Pic 2 is the connection to the outboard.Where does this hose connect to and how important is it?

I'm thinking it's the speedometer hose. If so not important but definitly get a second opinion.

That might explain why my speedometer quit working sometime late last season! Must have just now finally notice the wire! :bash:
