I can't find them on the net anywhere and nobody has their bows. Did you go out of business?

Has anybody every shot their bows and if so, any opinions? I'm looking at a used Clearwater Ultra Mag that's for sale on another site and was hoping to find specs on it somewhere. Suggestions? Opinions?

If I remember correctly they merged or were acquired by CSS. Check their site. If I'm wrong Sorry!

I didn't see anything on the CSS site about it. I did email them so we'll see.

No affiliation with CSS.

A few years ago Clearwater merged with Storm Archery and became "Storm Clearwater Archery". That didn't last very long, and the Clearwater name was phased out, now they're only known as Storm Archery.

I'd stay away from it, seeing as how there will not be anyone to take care of the warranty work if needed. Stay with a company that's still in business and can make warranty repairs.

Be careful buying a used Clearwater. Used to shoot them in the early 90s, they had a problem with the riser cracking and had to replace them. The ones that cracked had edges, they were replaced with risers that were all rounded. If there is a sharp 90 degree angle anywhere on the riser it is prone towards cracking.

Clearwater was bought out by Storm Archery who phased out all of Dave Powers design line. They brought out their own designs under Burley Hall which I don't think were nearly as good. I was a staff shooter for Clearwater for quite a while and was very sorry Dave and Donita had to sell the company. 2paws is right about the risers but the Power Mag was a great bow.
