Fished at mc clouth, picked up 2 eaters and alot of junky fish and
quite a few small eyes. Then did the whole golf course and nothing but
white perch and rock bass. Best action at mc clouth. I'll be fishing
there for a while.

Did north end of fighting Island yesterday morning, ended up with 8 keepers out of 20 btween 2 of us before the wind blew us off water. Clown was the hot color.

Monday morning fished hole in the wall, drop off into shipping channel, ended up with 4 keepers, firetiger was hot color. went to south side of crossdyke and picked up a few nice gills and couple perch before the rain drove us out.

Hey riv, Never fished up that way. I know I probly need a canadian liscense. Where exactly do you fish up there? I may run up this evening since that seems the only spot there is decent fish. How many junk fish did you get?

The Sugar Island channel is in American waters, that's where they get the 'eyes, if you fish for perch/sunnies east of there in the weedbeds, just stay at least a couple hundred of yards of the east side of the dike. The border starts at about 100 yards off the east side of the dike and goes SSW from there to probably 500+ yards off the east side at the south end of it...

Thanks connor, I know all about that area. I live there :D . I was tallking about the fighting island area. I fish that river almost daily, I know all the cuts. Sugar is usually a little rough for me with boat traffic and wind off the lake.

Connor,

There are two cuts around Sugar Island. Sugar Cut is the channel on the south side of the island closest to the Cross Dike.

Devils Cut is the Channel on the North Side of Sugar in front of Grosse Ile Yacht Club. There is a nice hole on near the east tip of Sugar that holds some fish.

I fished that spot last night and landed two walleye in one pass through. Had one sublegal throw back and a 18" keeper.

Andy, we got 3or4 silver bass, 4 smallies and a few white perch and 1 sheephead, so it didnt seem quite as bad as down at mclouth.

We fished between the 2 yellow buoys on the north side of fighting Island, stayed in about 20 to 33 fow. Most fish came in 24 to 28 FOW.
If you stand at wyandotte boat ramp and look straight across at the north end of grassy Is.( the Island with the light house on the north end and another leaning lighthouse on the west side) and continue to look past grassy Is and past the shipping channel you will see fighting Island, we just fished north of fighting Island between the yellow bouys, also you can work your way up and down the north west side of the Island working the edge of the shipping channel.
Also theres ussuallyplenty of fish around the northeast side of mud Island( which is the Island just north of grassyIs) handline or drift between greatlakes and mud Is.

Andy, yes you need a canadien liscense over at fighting Is, but not around mud Is.

You may already know all this but watch yourself around the northwest side of grassy Is., theres lots of rocks!! Stay in the channel.

I'd offer run ya up there tonight to show you exactly where we ussually fish but my daughters graduation is tonght. You working tommarrow morning? I'm going in the morning.
Got some people coming up from ohio this weekend to fish for 3 or 4 day but they aint suppose to be up untill tommarrow night, if they aint coming until late thursday night would you like to give it a whirl thursday evening?
I ussually put in at wyandotte if I'm fishing up that way(cut down on the travel time across the water) can launch and be fishinf within 5 or 10 minutes!
