If my memory of that location serves today, its an old gravel pit. Very dangerous place. As youngsters we used to fish it for gills and there were some large pike. Some kids fell in and couldnt get out as the slope of the sides was too steep and they drowned. Perhaps they have since corrected that problem by making a ledge or banned access to that pond. That was a long time ago. If you do go I would be curious to know how you did. Some of those old pits of American Agregate were loaded with fish.

i caught the biggest bass of my life in the northwestern corner of that pit (when the course was still being built.) there is a @#$$-load of fish in there but i'm pretty sure they will kick you out as soon as they see you. liability for gravel pits is huge and nobody want's to risk a law-suit.

Sounds like a sneak attack with collapsable rods and black outfits in the middle of the night is what will be required for this fishing trip. I am in...i will provide cover fire.

Neil I see you referenced that this was a golf course. I hope you are not going there for slab crappie for the table. Fish in golf course ponds are not desireable table fair. The waters they inhabit contain high amounts of chemicals, i.e. fertilizers, weed killers etc, which makes them unfit to eat. Just a heads up.
