Got the better half and my boys to join me in our first family fishing trip of the year on Saturday evening. Dropped the boat in at the MC ramp and proceeded to my favorite spot. Got the lines in the water, the kids and wife some chips and pops, a cigar for myself and the dvd player going all by 7pm. Not to much action for the first hour or so but when the sun started going down the eyes turned on. Lots of throw backs but by 11:30 we had put 17 or 18 in the boat. Kept enough for a good fish dinner and called it a night. What a blast for the boys watching their eyes light up as the fish were really slamming the baits. Most of the fish had one set of hooks in the mouth and another in the side or back. Hot color for the night was a wonder bread night stalker which probably accounted for 50% of the hits. The fish all looked nice and healthy. Looks good for the next couple years when they all grow up a little. Gotta love this time of the year! :D
