Fished the Marble Eye with Walleyevision this weekend,,,,,, we fished hard all weekend but only got eaters and throwbacks,,,,,,, until this morning!!!!!
Matt arrived late--as predicted by me,,,,,, we went to the bait shop for minnows, launched the boat and were on our way. I started to cut the motor, when Matt asked "wheres the net????" Dummy me, was gonna change to a different net, headed into garage with small net, phone rang, forgot about bigger net....... Headed back to dock, left Matt with the boat and went home to get the net........ Lucky for me, I only live 2 minutes from the lauch........ Back in the boat and headed out again, first drift, got this 8# 3oz beauty!!!!!!!!!!!

We headed in, trailored the boat, and headed to the weigh in station. I placed 2nd in todays weigh in, the board behind me shows the top 25 for the tournament, I placed 4th overall!!!!!!

just noticed it was about the same length as my fish, but more than a lb heavier. my fish seemed to be mostly air bladder, no fat and nothing in the stomach. kinda strange.

once again, beauty of a fish!

I worked the headquarters and weigh in from Midnight on Sunday till 8:00 am ... long night but we DID see some really nice fish come in. Sorry I did not get a chance to meet some of you. The consensus by almost everyone was the huge take of small fish that were returned. The DNR biologist that met with the tournament members early on, hit it right on the head with that one !! Next year is going to be veryyy good !!

Hope you all had a great time .. next year will be even better. EVERY ticket was sold by Friday morning .. all 500 ... thank you all ...

Our good friend and great fisherman Bob Heydens from St Clair took the "HOG" with his 10 lb, 5 oz fish ... 31 1/2" if I remember right ..

Congrats to you "HABBUT" !!

I had a feeling you would place this year. Great Job! Are there any more tournment's up that way this year? When the hooks are sharp its a good time to enter these contest.

Sturge,

The Algonac Pickerel Tourney this coming 4th of July weekend. 500 bucks for the hog fish and prizes paid daily. Just about the same as the Marble Eye. I'm sure IFN has all the details on that one too. ;)

Great Job Mike!!! Glad to see all that jigging this spring paid off!

Mike,
Congratulations on the big fish, and placing in the money.
Now that you got paid for fishing, can I tell people I know a "Pro", :yikes:
Maybe I should rephrase that, I meant "Pro Fisherman",

Thanks Everybody, and a BIG Thanks to Matt- Walleyevision, if it werent for his netting skills, I would'nt have caught that fish!!!!!!

Rich, no you cant tell anybody that you know a pro, cause I'm not one!!!! I'm just the blind squirrel that happened to be lucky enough to find the nut on that day....:D

kcud rellik, was just tired, after fishing hard for 3 day, every fisherman there looked as energetic as I did!!!! :dizzy:
