We managed to pull a 3 man limit out of the MC area last night. These are 6 of the 18 we kept. Put 5 or 6 small one back in. Black & Silver and Purplescent #11's and Redhead Wonderbread did the trick.......Bob B.

Mike is right. It is Marine City, I never thought it could be middle channel. I'll spell it out from now on.
Here you go Ed. This set up has been good to me over the years.

Yes it works great for whipping. Been using this set up for 40 years. Just have to work the line out a little slower is all.
I think it is a handlinning set up.......Bob B.

Hey Slick, ya don't need a bow mount for whipping. I've tried that jiggin thing a couple times. It's just not the same bite as whipping, when the fish hits the Rapala or nite Stalker ya know you have a fish on. Jiggin, when the fish hits my first thought is I have a snag. I grew up whippin (or chugging as it used to be called a while back). ....Bob B.

 I've talked to a couple of people and they use spiderwire for the main and mono for the leaders does this make a difference? If so why?
One more question could you use a handlining shank for the leads?
Nice catch Bob and thanks for the pic's of the rig!!

The other new rapala color (hot steel) has produced really well for us on salmon earlier and now walleye.

Hey Bob. What lb. test do you use on the main and leaders? Also how stiff of a rod is best for whipping?

Bob,
did you get lost?? Marysville is about 20 miles north of Marine City!! I guess you gotta go where the fish are.

Thanks Bob I'll surely give it a try just for poops and giggles. Fire line or Stren super braid work great for whippin no stretch in the main line, in my appion these lines help set the hook hard. A little stretch in the leaders is ok. I think a handline shank or dropper will not snap forward like mono.

I use 30 lb. Fireline for my main line and 12 lb. Spiderwire for the leads. I use a 4' pole.

I think the shank will work but it might create more drag whipping it through the water.
Josh: Marine City from Marysville my anchor slipped :tdo12: .
