Well the big ones are on the beds down here in the SW corner!! My son and I went out and cought some nice ones. We kept a few within our personel slot limmit of 7"-8", We released some good ones, one that was 10 1/2".. Here is a pic of the ones we kept.

Note that I broke one of my superstitions...We kept 13 fish :yikes: . We should have let one go or caght 1 more.. I hope we did not jinx ourselves!!

Hey those are dandy gills.Looks like the ones I caught today before the rains came.They were slammin my rubber spiders,and ended up with 22. All males and the water temp was only 62 degrees.That don't matter when they are hungry! I also let the huge ones live.More people should start doing this.:)

Well I am not jinxed. I went out tonight and caught 20 more on my fly rod. I let allot go, put back allot of females that were full of eggs.

I just started a thread with the question you have obviously answered Wyle E, nice pics, haven't fly fished for gills in years. What length/weight do you use?

Nice fish and nice pics. The lake that I am fishing in is still a little cold. I did manage a few nice gills, but slammed the crappie!!!!

Not on my fly rod, but I am on my spinning set up.
