What is the difference between these types of combos?
Spincast, baitcast, and spinning combos
Is one best for beginners?
Thanks.

These aren't my words, I just quickly grabbed them off search, but they seem to answer your question pretty quickly:
Spincast Reel (http://www.angelfire.com/ia3/fishing/aboutreels.htm#closedspinreel)
(Also known as a Closed Face reel) (http://www.angelfire.com/ia3/fishing/aboutreels.htm#closedspinreel)
Spinning Reel (http://www.angelfire.com/ia3/fishing/aboutreels.htm#openspinreel)
(Also known as a Open Face reel) (http://www.angelfire.com/ia3/fishing/aboutreels.htm#openspinreel)
Bait Casting Reel (http://www.angelfire.com/ia3/fishing/aboutreels.htm#baitcastreel)
Hope it helps.

i started with a spincast and they are easy to learn and not real new technology. i now use open face spinning reels which offer much better drag. id say baitcast would def. be the hardest to learn for a beginner. to this day im deadly accurate with a closed face but am forcing myself to learn the open face and eventually a baitcaster. i can use a baitcaster but i wanna feel comfortable while im out fishing not fighting with rats nests!

Thanks. I think I'll start with Spincast. For light panfish from ponds and mad made lakes, what pound and color of line do you recommend?

clear line maybe a 6-8 even a 10 lb for a beginner for just panfish id say a 6 lb would do ya fine!

Lighter line the better. For panfish I would go no heavier than 4. It casts easier and if the fish are being picky it may just help you catch a few more fish.

Thanks, I'm going to make a separate post for the line and rod/reel, so people aren't confused with the first post I made.
