Ran across the street to the small lake / large pond in Baatjes Park in Wyoming after work yesterday. Bass are just starting to pick their spots for bedding... caught this one in about 2' of water... ran across the street to take this photo and ran back to return her. Next cast I caught a second fish that could be this one's twin! 5 total casts, two 15" bass. Not bad. Didn't catch another one... but had a Garpike take my senko and hook!! Guy up the street threw a dozen or so Gar in the pond several years ago.. with all the bluegills in there they are flourishing!! I've seen many of them over the years... and have now had 3 baits take by them. One day I'll catch one!! :D

OK, why can't I post a picture??

they make a special lure for gar... has no hook what so ever. the millions of teeth those things got is what catches em on the lure. its a clump of a million gazillion micro-fiber's or thread deals that move in th water like a sjirt on a spinner bait. no hook, the gars teeth get tangled in it. best lure i ever used for em... wish i knew what the guy called em that let me use em.

I heard to use nylons (like women wear) tied on a spoon.

Howdy-

Maybe it's just me, but the phrase 'set of twins' brought a decidedly different image to mind...... :yikes:

I used to swim at Baatjes Park quite a few years ago. The bluegills would nibble your skin if you stood still. That was weird.

I'm just down the street from Baatjes Park and caught 3 nice bass (15 - 17") Wednesday right near the sign in the water on the North side of the peninsula. The big one ended up getting wrapped around the sign and I had to wade in and unwrap it. The water was cold and the bass stayed hooked the whole time.

Rockman, where do you live? I live right across the street from the pond... I'm the guy with the 24' blue and white Baja in the drive way.... along with the yellow and white 14' Glastron.
