We went upto to sebiawing today and fished the river. The fishing was very slow. My grandpa caught a young musky, about 15 inches long. I have never heard of musky's being caught in or around the bay. Are these fish in the bay or this fish lost? Did not take pics of the fish.
Heading up there next thursday to camp. Hope it starts to warm up before we go up, the water was pretty chilly.

They are there, they are in all the great lakes and do/can move through any connecting water searching for food or spawning habitat and so on, I know of a few guys who have caught musky while walleye fishing the bay and river, but the are so few that it would not be worth fishing for them.David

you always see a few in the winter caught out of the marina in seb. usually only small 7-15 inchers.

Could make for a decent fishery as long as the fish stick around as they grow. Nice to catch a fish that you don't see very often.
Thanks for replying,

I can't speak for all the tributarys of Saginaw Bay but the Tittabwassee river has some dandy muskeys and big notherns. After the walleye thing is over they get almost no pressure, nobody fishes for them. I have never landed any really big ones. The biggest muskey was around 30" but I have had much bigger on and have seen them laying like logs. Of course Sanford Lake Has produced really big ones. I think if someone wanted to spend a little effort they could really have some fun.

I know they get some hogs in sanford lake, ever get the motor running right on the boat, will be able to do some fishing on the lakes. Tib has some huge northerns didn't know about musky's.
