How many folks fish from paddle crafts and what's your favorite craft to fish from (kayak, canoe etc.)? How many would like to see a seperate paddle fishing forum?

I took my home made canoe out yesterday for the first time. You can see it here http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96596 First time in a canoe since in 20 years actually. Went out for an hour and landed a coulple small bass and one monster. Needless to say im hooked now. It was nice to have the peace and quite and almost stalk the fish feeling. Im not sure about another forum since I only read a few regualary right now. I will be building a wood kayak in the fall to go with my canoe.

I fish from a canoe quite regularly. Its the only boat I have so not many other options. Sometimes we paddle but I also have a trolling motor. My canoe is outfitted with rod holders, outriggers(not to be confused with downrigger, the outriggers stabalize the canoe), 2 anchors and sometimes my vex. I love fishing from my canoe except when we wanna go upstream.

My first boat was a 17' 9" canoe and my son and I fished out of it alot. Eventually I put a 50lb trolling motor on it - really moved it well. Also used a sonar and did some really fun fishing. Moved up to 14' with 18hp now have a 17' 90 hp/9.9 hp kicker. All good stuff.

I was bitten by the kayak fishing bug in florida a couple winters ago. It's gotten to be really popular in the coastal states. The Sit-on-top variety is what's mainly used in the warmer climates. I have a 14' solo sit-in rigged for fsihing with two rod holders, vexilar and a drift sock system which works really great for fishing the lakes. I'm looking for another one in the 16' class to paddle the Lake Michigan shoreline dragging raps and bombers early spring and fall to see if i can hook up with a big king to pull me around. It seems my 17' center console doesn't see the water as much anymore. Paddling is addictive.

I've fished for several years in a 14 ft. Perception Sundancer....a Sit-In type kayak. I've mounted a fishfinder with the through-the-hull transducer mounted just aft of the seat. Excellent stealth. I made two hooks from pvc pipe to hold the paddle when fishing and lined both hooks with carpet for quietness. Works well. I think a new forum for paddlers would be great....
If you want a good link in the meantime, try www.kayakfishingstuff.com as they have a large number of forums related to paddling and fishing.

Been fishing from my 17' Aerocraft canoe for 25 years. Perfect for stalking largemouths in the lily pads.

OLN just had a segment (or was it an infomercial, can't tell these days) with Hank Parker and his son catching bass fishing out of a Hobie Outback kayak type of craft. They were catchin them big ole bay-ass (emphasis on Alabama accent) while fishing from the kayaks.
