this is a belated pic of my baby. bought the boat last july and finally got a chance to post it. Hopefuly ill get some better pics up here (i have dial up and it takes forever). Its an 18 foot mirrocraft 125 merc, with a 9.9 4 stroke kicker, 65 lb 24volt autopilot trolling motor on the bow. Flushmount rod holders, optima batteries, 2 livewells, 2 baitwells, side rod holders, I love this boat I just got the kicker this year and the rod holders this year so hopefully i will catch some more fish. This was quite an upgrade from a 14 footer with a 15 horse, which i still use.

I actually keep it on lk st clair right by the nine mile coast gaurd station. so im kind of in the middle of any action im about 10 miles from the sturgeon hole 10 mile from the clinton river and about 5 miles from the dumping grounds or the st clair light so it works out pretty well. I didnt get out as much as i would have liked to last year a lot of the days i had off were just out of control east/northeast winds hopefully this year will be better. Also a lot of the time i go out alone so occasionaly i might be looking for a partner if anybody is interested.

very nice thats what im talking about! I have a 1985 blue fin 17'. Put a new merc motor on in 1999 and installed new floor and electronics, problem is when the boat dont leak and everything works perfectly fine its hard to trade it in for a new one. Oh and its paid for that allways helps, but still cant help wanting an upgrade!

Looks great. Getting a new boat and doing upgrades can be fun, but sometimes can be a trial and error process. I think the newly installed kicker will make a huge difference for you this year for slow trolling and ultimate speed control. The biggest upgrade that put more fish in my boat (and even saved my hide once 10 miles out) was a kicker. Do you have them connected with a bar or do you just use the tiller arm?

A couple of things to consider for future upgrades:

I didn't see an antenna, do you have a marine radio?

Additional rod holders for the bow.

A net holder of some type.

Some rocket launchers for additional rod storage. Some rigged to your seat mount up front would probably work nicely.

A clamp to secure your walk through windshield open for those rough and windy days.

A tiller arm extension for the kicker, if you're not running a bar to the big motor.

A mount to secure the top of your electric motor.

Those are just some easy ideas. Have a great season.
