Anybody ever use dipsies for walleye? I just bought some 3/0 divers to get the lure away from the boat. Was just curious what length of leaders everyone uses and what types of baits. I am thinking stick baits with about an 8 or ten foot leader.

Also what type of depths can I expect to get out of a dipsy that size?

Thanks in advance,
Dan

I generally will run a 6 foot flurocarbon leader. We use Reef runners, crawler harnesses with meat and Michigan Stinger Spoons for the gatorbacks.

Shallow running stick baits are fine. Deep runners will pull too much and negate the side planing action of the dipsie. I would keep the leaders no longer than your rods. Leaders longer than that make it very difficult to land the :fish:
