Man it is starting to feel like Christmas eve again. Can't wait for it to get here. I think this year I am looking forward to walleye opener as much as deer season.

All you lucky trolls have been fishing for a while. How has everyone been doing on the inland lakes?

Yeah, one of the officers on ask the DNR said that was the next big change coming down the pipe. That they were going to make the season opener the same for both parts of the state. Now that better mean that we are going to have opener on the last sat in apr, and not that they are going to change it down there. He also said that they get more calls about that than any other topic.

Yeah I hear ya Bert, last year if you would have seen me leaving the house you would have thought that I was heading for my deer blind and not my boat. Heaving winter jacket, hat, gloves, and wooly bibs. Not to mention boots. It was nasty last year. Cold and blowy all day. The fishing better be much better too. We fished in on Portage Lake, and there was lots of guys out there, and we didn't talk to so much as one boat that had gotten so much as a bite all day. Rough. But it stayed cold so long last year that we didn't start catching decent amounts of fish until the second half of June.

Tight lines,
Dan

3 days 1 hour and 45 minutes...and who is counting. I'm feel the same way Dedge...like a kid at Christmas. On my way up to my little piece of heaven on Friday on LBDN. Will put the boat in on Saturday afternoon and have it on the dock ready to go at midnight.

Good luck to everyone up north...be safe!
