spotted one on a little farm pond not 1/4 mile from the gordonville bridge on the Tittabawasee.
I thought those things were supposed to stay out on big water? To bad there isn't a legal way to just off the beast.

Jimmer.
Unfortunately, these parasites will land anywhere there's an easy meal. And few things are easier for a commorant, than cleaning out small, shallow ponds of their inhabitants. Imagine waking up and seeing a flock on your trout pond. I've heard recently that they are considering a "test" open season in specific areas with major problems.

Near the end of March there was one right downtown bay city at the river walk. Dives down for a min. or two and comes up with a fish almost everything.

For all those needing information on the black devil bird known as the commorant, go to the waterfowl posts. A good, long read and some good information can be weeded out.

it's worse than I thought, today we drove by the same pond and there's SEVEN of em, not just one!
Too close to some of my favorite fishing holes I am afraid, might be fun if they open a season on em...good entertainment if the fishing gets slow.

I fished Fletcher pond ( floodwaters ) last wekend. That poor lake was loaded with those fish eating machines. Every stump or log had birds pirched on them.
I also used the large number of birds, as an excuse for why I didn't catch any fish. ;) :evilsmile
