Well I made the opener in my usual style ( ;) ) as of the last few years, 12:01am firing a jig combo off the Center St. bridge on the Tittabawassee River. The combo was a 1/4oz. pink jig head with a 4" chunk of a brown colored GULP! Turtleback worm on it. Three casts later, one fish on the bank, another half hour and then the second fish hit the bank with his buddy. Spent about another thirty minutes or so without a bite so I packed up and went home for a few zzzz'ss. Watched about eight or so boats launch off on the Titt., not too much action there for as nice of a night as it was. Very, very lite wind, calm water and about 44 degrees. Here is a pic of my pair, sorry for the low quality shot, only had my cheapo camera with me and then flashing it against the grass doesn't help either.

I grew up on Center road, about 1 mile north of that bridge (our house was midway between Michigan and Gratiot). Of course, when I lived there (graduated from High School in '73) the river was a chemical dump that you could smell when the wind was from the south. Did catch a few nice carp from out of there in the late 60's/ early 70's, but would have given a pound of flesh to catch some 'eyes like that!
Thanks for posting the pics,
