Both will be packed with more boats than you have ever seen. So take your pick and go fishing. I'll be leaving to go salmon fishing for the weekend where we won't be able to talk to the boat next to us:D . So have fun with the crazies.

More than likely, the big ones are out of the river system. But I'm stickin' to what I know: north of Imerman on M-46 between freeland and saginaw. The bay sounds really good, but the wind is to be 14 mph from the north. Might be a bit bouncy. Not ready for that with my 8 year old as my partner this weedend.

Mostly males in the river. Seen some up to 6 lbs. last year. The tourney out of freeland will make the rivers almost unpassable. The bay is now open so that might thin it out a little.

But it is alway a blast to be a part of.

We'll be on the Tibb w/ 10,000 of our closest friends. It will be a zoo, but hopefully the fish will be around. The last few years have been a bust.

I'll be shooting for the Bay both days. Just a little premature to really predict the wind direction and speed. Them weather Hacks couldn't do it for the next day this past winter, let alone three days ahead. It was also supposed to rain every day this week. Oppppss. :dizzy:

The Tib is always packed, yet there always seems to be plenty of room. Everyone is always very coopertive, and people generally takes turns drifting through a runs. You see a lot women and children fishing too. I enjoy seeing all the different boats, and its fun to recognize the same watercraft year after year. Every year there's a guy out there in a 12 foot boat with an actual La Z Boy recliner. There are conoes, and there even a few 20 foot fiberglass boats with Stiffler's Mom look-alikes puffing away on a cigarette.
On the other hand, every steel head river I've been on is completely the opposite. Every passing boater gives you the eye like you're fishing thier personal private spot. Or just because you passed them you ruined their fishing for the day, even if you get all the way over. And never, never ask anyone 'how ya doin?'. You could be shot.

Just took the boat on the Saginaw down by the Zilwaukee for a quick morning shakedown before the weekend. Water was fishable a little high and off colored, but should be able to have good boat control this weekend current wise. Wind wise thats another story. Water clarity seems about a foot but I did not put anything in the water with any color to attract any attention :yikes: . Water looked real good for thowing cranks into the shallows thou. Down by Wickes at the split they have about 4 orange bouys floating must be to marke deadheads so be careful after dark guys. Good luck to all.
