Does anybody know if the sheriff pulls up to you while fishing, and suspects you are fishing for Bass or Musky, (something out of season). Do they have the athority to give you a ticket. Just wondering????

The sheriff can write tickets for the dnr how far they'll go out of the way to do so depends on the officer. I was fishing off south river rd last fall and someone had a illegal muskie in thier possetion so I walked down to the dnr office and knowone was there so I went over to the sheriff's office and a macomb co sheriffs officer came down and wrote the guy a ticket. He told me he could'nt get ahold of a dnr officer and that he'd take care of it.

Yes they can, most DNR violations are State Law Misdemeanors, and can be enforced by any LEO.

Yup, and a CO can issue you a ticket for a traffic violation.
