Yesterday at the wall in Port Huron was slower than slow!! No smelt. No fish. Felt like 50 mph winds that started in the late afternoon. Fished the mouth of the black and didn't see anything at all. A long, cold, fishless day.....and I loved every minute of it!! Always better than just about anything else I would've been doing ( work, honey-do lists, etc....) :)

I wen't out there the other night and I thought my eyes were going to jump right out of my head! I shined my flashlight in the water and there was nothing but fish-all the way down the entire wall!! About 3 foot wide strech-had to have been a mile long-all right on top of the water! I pulled about 20 gallons worth in one pull with my big net and :evil:sure enough-too good to be true!!!! They're all shiner minnows! I easily could have filled the bed of my truck with them!-No smelt that night! I've been out about a half dozen times and just about got enough for a good meal for my wife and daughter and I. Like everyhting else though-everybody claims they were nailing them really good on those few nights I missed!

Thanks for the replies guy's,I sure don't know what this cold snap is going to do other than drives us fishermen nuts:bash: Just when things were starting to heat up we get bombed with this crappy weather.Well maybe when this junk gets outta here things will really start to take off.I still would like to get some smelt if they ever go this year.If you guy's up there could keep me up to date on what's happening it would be great. Thanks Ted
