Launched at St Jean Yesterday afternoon and ran down to the Joe. Weather was perfect. Had lots of shorts bites with only a few sub-legal fish. Water was clear. Ran Across to the Park on the Canadian side and took five 4-5 lb fish (Between 2 of us), with many smaller ones sent back to the drink. Also caught a 6 lb smallie! Water over there was dirty compared to the U.S. side. Not bad for the 1st time out.

Hey Bill, nice job on the fish. I thought you were the big lake expert. Sounds like you have quite the touch for jigging as well. I enjoy big lake trolling but the old holding the rod and quick hook sets of jigging and Perching will always be a big part of my fishing enjoyment. A 6 lb Smallie! Wow, I bet that fish had to go 21 inches. That’s a bute! :)

Hey bum...we fished the rencen from 3-7pm and took 8 nice fish from 17-23 inches and tossed 4 undersized fish back. The jiggers were doing well down there and I noticed it was slow for the handliners. ...andy

Yeah, the big lake is where most of my time goes, but I'm into everything. I do the walleye jiggin' thing in the Detroit river in the spring and Saginaw in the fall, not to mention I used to spend alot of time on Saginaw Bay for the Eye's trolling. But if you wanna know a secret,...... I spend more time flyfishing than anything else.

I bought a smaller boat a bit over a yr ago just to get out and do some fishing during the week. I have a Dock on Lakeville lake for the Great bass fishing, and since I work on St Clair, I'm going to try the Muskie thing. That is something I don't know alot about.

I was going to hit the river again today, but the thunder out my window is telling me different! Maybe tomorrow.
