marker bouys in detroit river

Does anybody know what all the marker bouys (red balls and white stakes) are out by the north end of belle isle by the coast gaurd station? Just wondering if anybody knew.

I think they are doing a study on spawing strugeon. I saw 4 guys in one boat they all were using cameras searching the area.

Thanks for the info Ed. Wasnt sure if i could go through there or not. That is one of my spots to fish by that green bouy north of the coast gaurd station.

f you get close enough they say USGS RESEARCH sturgeon stuff I think..andy
