I have 2 rose bushes that bloom really good then get the black spot on the leafs then they turn yellow and fall off and the bush may have a couple blooms later but it looks pretty funny with no leafs. They get hit 3 times a week with the sprinkler system (well water) for about 45 minutes. Is the watering the problem?

Yes, best to water them from the bottom if you can. Also you could spray them with fungicide every 2 weeks or so. Black spot is a fungus. Very common on roses.

I spray my climbing roses at least once per week with Ortho Rose Pride. It is aimed at controlling bugs, diseases and mites. Works pretty well. Also keep your roses pruned so you can easily see the actively growing parts of the cane. Bugs usually eat emerging blooms and the actively growing parts.

Is there a fungicide that is good at preventing black spot? My roses come in great every year and I water from the bottom, but it seems once we get a lot of rain it shows up and I can never get a handle on it afterwards
