Hey guys watch your dogs around your furniture. Had a freak accident last night, My Brittany got her foot caught underneath my reclining chair. my kids 16 and 13 were home alone and the dog went after a piece of bacon that fell off a plate. She swiped at it and caught her toe in the bottom frame work of the chair. Both kids freaked got a neighbor he freaked called 911, and a cop came by. the cop freaked and called the fire dept. I got there just before the Fire dept. ended up prying the chair apart. Got her out and then she bled all over the room. She ended up cutting her tendon and three deep cuts to her foot. But 600.00 dollars later she'll be good as new. Never a dull moment. Thank god for the Chesterfield police and fire depts.

Sorry to hear that, I sure hope your pup will be ok. How long does the doc think it will take to heal up?

Ahhhh, Britts. We all seem to have freak accidents with them, maybe it's other breeds too, but I've had my share.
Had my best stud catch a nail on one of those idiotic 'boot-scraper' pickup steps while loading up in the cab. It was dangling, blood everywhere and a quick call to Doc, my hunting friend for 30 years and a vet, just brought the calm response of 'take a pair of pliers, jerk out the claw, sterilize it, and he'll be fine." Lynn did it, as I hadn't the balls, he was walking fine the next day and he had a new claw within a month. He lived to be eighteen
Know your girl will be fine and know what you went through.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Young pups are the most vulnerable. Hope all turns out well.
