Area archers win honors in national contest

Two members of the local Flint Bowmen youth archery team won top honors in last weekend's National Field Archery Championship in Louisville, Ky.
David Turek, 17, of Mayville won first place in the junior division (ages 16-17) with a score of 600 out of a possible 600, with 116 bull's-eyes out of a possible 120, said his coach, Mark Salsgiver of Davison.
Finishing second in the girls youth division (ages 11-12) was Lindsay Ladzinski, 11, of Almont. She scored 600 with 101 bull's-eyes.
