View Full Version : Plastic license?

Do you think if we raise enough of a stink the D.N.R. would go back to those classic old fishing licenses?
I have a decent collection of the old ones with the trout stamp and they sure have a lot more class and personality than the plastic sheets we're now given for the same price.
I wonder why the D.N.R. would make such a change and who, in their right mind at the D.N.R. would approve such a change.
I also wonder what visitors to Michigan think of our state when given a cash register receipt as a temp license.

I'm pretty sure that you can send your reciept in and get an actual trout stamp. They stopped giving out the stamps because they are expensive. I think it is a good thing for the DNR to save money like that. (Now if they only knew how to put that money to good use!).

Peddler, I agree. I used to love to collect those trout stamps. Now I guess you can pay an extra $10 and send in somewhere to get one, but I don't think most people want to spend an extra $10 and its a pain.

The old stamps were great to collect, nut I would rather have the new licenses that don't fall apart with a little moisture. As for the impressions given to outstate folks, I think many of them are used to it.

I got a license in Tenn. that is exactly like ours, and that was a year before we got them in MI. This summer I got a license in WI that was a paper receipt about 3 feet long with rules on it!

It sure isn't pretty, but if it allows more $$ to actually benefit the game species, I say just give me the new license.
