Fished Fair Haven and did o.k. Was out in front of Bud's in about 5 foot of water and had schools coming through from about 5:00 until dark - The jumbos are in and are aggressive. Took only 10 home though - all were above 8 and one was 13'". Missed a couple that looked to be 12. Saw a couple that made the 12's look small. Took only 1 on a minnow and took the rest on a fire tiger willow leaf tipped with waxies. Started jigging real slow off of the bottom and brought it up to the hole and then back down. Most fish hit on the way down - some near the hole!

Heads up for the launch area. I went in about 10 feet from the launch on my walk in - Ice looked good but just gave way - water was about 3 foot deep and made for a fun ride home in the underwear. Be careful if you take off from that launch - Looks can be deceiving! So thanks to all the people who insist on driving full size trucks 500 yards to their fishing spot and wearing down the only access spot instead of walking like the rest. I really enjoyed the swim!

Friggin idiots....hopefully some of them got stuck out there with no way to get off the ice after another one of their like minded idiots messed up the launch....
Maybe it will keep the racing crowd away and give us some peace and quiet. Some moron came out there monday driving a white van and pulling a trailer with some sort of racing machine on it that looked like a dragster. He ran back and forth for a couple hours and chased all the fish away.
Meanwhile we gotta deal with fighting to get on and off the ice...

Buds is the old name to the red restaurant that is right before the Fair Haven launch if you are coming in from the city. It is now called Bobby Mac's Bayside. There was a pretty decent group of people fishing in that area, so just look for the crowd.
