7-8 small, but I keep em on slower days (best tasting)
8-10 perfect keepers anytime
11-12 jumbos, keep most, but do throw back the fat females
>12 football hogs - always throw back, unless going on the wall.

We generally say 8" for the bucket, but I frequently fish with kids, and we don't argue with the kids about what is really 8" if they really want to keep them a little smaller.

9" and up. unless its real slow then the big shoulder 8"s might end up in the bucket.

It depends on what I am catching at the time.
I will keep anything 8 inches or over.
I like to keep about 50, so if I know if I can get at least 35 eight-inchers, I would probably add 15, seven-inchers in with them as well. I mean if I am going to go through the mess and clean up already, it only takes me like 10 minutes to filet 15 or 20 seven inch perch and they eat just as well as the eight inchers. <----<<<

it depends on how hungry i'm sometimes they don't make it to the bucket :evilsmile

I'm with you Steve I like the small ones the best, nice and sweet. But they don't hold a chandle to your Caribou Sticks

I would have to say that 8 inch perch size and up I consider to be keepers for eating.Sometimes I have kept them a bit smaller but usualy have regreted it later.

I'm with stinger and Ed M., although I did keep 2 that were 8"'s this weekend,, and regretted it. Unless you're scaling the 7"er's,, I think its a complete waste. I don't care how bad the fishing is or how hungry I am,, NOTHING under 8" goes in the bucket. I honestly think there should be size limits on perch. Let the 7"er's go. Is it possible that everyone thats keeping 6 and 7"er's all year is having a "negative" effect on the overall size of the perch in the lake????? I hate to turn this into a QPM discussion,,, but I think its something we should think about.
