Hello guy's- thanks again for your help on hooking up 24 volts. Question--As I understand it there will only be one cable conecting the 2 batteries. One cable from positive on #1 battery to Negative post on #2 battery. The other cables are from the trolling motor. I have 3 cables coming out of the trolling motor. One Black-one Red-and one Orange.--Question--Does the black go to negative and orange and red to positive?

The other question...Would I get 12 volts from one of the batteries if I use the postive and Negative post from one side of the 2 batteries hooked up for 24 volts..hope I am clear on this.......Thanks Blue

If I remember correctly I did not connect the orange wire. The 24/12volt plug had a orange wire. Didnot use it.

Second question---I think so, but why.

Man---You are fast. I have a compuss mounted on the other side of the walk through. The 24 volt batteries will be right below. I am thinking I can just run the 2 wires down, one pos.-one neg- to just one battery and pick up 12 volt for the compuss light...

I'm not sure about the 3rd wire. I have not connected a 24volt motor, didn't know you could use 12 or 24 volt.
If you are trying to connect something 12 volt to the battery you can just connect to the POS and NEG of one battery. NOT across the two. Don't forget the fuse to protect the compass or what ever you are trying to hook up.

[POS] 12volt [NEG]-----jumper-----[POS] 12volt [NEG]

<----------------------------24 volt----------------------->

Good Luck

You are planning on putting in a switch for the light, you don't want that on all the time or it will drain the battery.
