Sunnies to the rescue!

After spending the first half of the day chasing the very elusive jumbos and ending up with under 10, I hit the canals and got a limit of sunnies/crappies. Line score was 11 perch(7-9"). 19 sunnies(7-9") and 6 crappies(9-12"). I had the pleasure of meeting Shadow, he had some good perch, but that's his story.

At first light people were getting them(perch) on minnows, I couldn't buy a bite and small, large, or minnow heads. The ones I got(everything I got)was on a green superglow and waxworms. With the lake open, I'd hoped that the perch would be under the remaining ice, but not for me. Haven't been out in a month, it was nice to have ice under my feet again. I'm hoping the ice will last. Can't wait for those dinks to grow up!! Ice in the canals is still 15" plus and in good condition.

Fish eater, maybe we'll hook up in a couple of weeks, sorry about the weak batteries.

Had a great time out there with you ficious and in my count was 11 perch(8 came from the perch god) and 18 nice fat sunnies.

dang, sounds like i missed an eventful day.... wish i could of got out with ya Harry but still not up to it yet, in fact, i am headin to the Dr. again on wed. to figure out wat up.... anyways, at least ya got a few and had a decent day to do it on... lookin forward to the "spring" fishin...

It was Good seeing ya on the ice again Shadow and tlaking with Ficious on the radio. Shadow 8 Perch is far from god lol. It was a slow bite. What worked for me was to put a livley minnow on a plain hook to draw the perch in and have a large sweedish pimple with a minnow head, dead sticking about a foot off the bottom. any keepers came on the pimple and minnow head. Glad you guys got into the pan fish out there. I should have stuck around . I'd love to pull a big Crapie through the ice.

where were you guys at, i tried for panfish in the bouvier marina canals sunday, but only got 2 fish in nearly 2 hours?

Near the Coast Guard station at 10 mile.

Went back to today. Not as good as yesterday but a meal anyway.

I did'nt hear my phone ring :lol: I thought we had a net work going silly me. Just kidding !!! great to see you made it out Harry, but you should have made the walk or called I'd would have came and picked you up.We got limos of sunnies yesterday. I'll be off all week if you get a day off Shadow. Going with tubejig tomorrow not sure where yet. It should bust wide open with the stable weather in the forecast.

Hey ficious. Thanks for getting me back to fishing LSC. :D Picked up a dozen yesterday at SANG. Ran 9" to 12". Surprisingly, at last light they seemed to turn on. Even managed to get some waypoints before the batteries died. (been a tough year on electronics out there for me) :rolleyes:
Stringer thanks for the comeback and update on the radio. I'm guessing you were pretty close to where I was. You driving a 3 wheeler ? Some day we gotta put a face with a voice. Thanks. ;)

I did the same thing on Sunday. I started out on the lake and couldn't get on anything. I moved into a canal and ended up with 30 real nice perch, 20 slab gills, and a few (10) crappie to top it all off. Gonna make for a nice dinner Wednesday night... <----<<<
