New boat green horn here, bought new last yr and had a blast. Anyhow have a 90 yamaha 2-stk and after a particular highly charged/stressed time at the launch trying to start a cold motor (didn't prime, then flooded it), I was determined to be ready & running next time when it was my turn. So when I undid the straps and got ready to put her the water, while waiting on land, not in water I turned the engine over till she just fired/started. Well seemed like a great idea till after doing it twice or so, someone said ya dont want to do that as it might damage the impeller. I immediatly quit that practice and after reading a bit more this winter I am wondering if I damaged my impeller.

Is there a way I can check the condition of my impeller easily?

Thanks..

Rod

It depends on your definition of easy? You have to take it out to inspect it,so if drop the lower unit and pull the pump housing apart,,,and well if you have gone that far you should just as well put a new one in! cheep insurance!!
So what is your mechanical ability?
Do you get frustrated easily?
Do you have the proper tools?
