Fished two hour Friday afternoon. The first place I went was not good for fishing. I then went to the seond place. Some people were leaving. I did not have time to drill holes so I fished the holes that people left. Caught this 25" 7lb 10oz eye at 5:35PM. Plus a 11" and a 12" perch.
Don't give up yet, but be awere of the ice. It gets worse as the temperature goes up.

I was out today there is open water from Belle mar marina or around the clinton river all the way to the north channel. mostly open water along the mile roads also. Looks like alot of the best fishing of the year drifted to canada

I share fishing information with others. All requests of the location have been responded. When I posted in this sub-forum I thought some people should be able to figure out where it was. In fact some did.
It is the Banana Dyke. It is always a hit or miss.

I know, i think that is wierd how LSC has suddenly opened up...only had 2 days of warm weather. It is probably the winds and this stronger March sun. I meant all inland areas still have probably over a foot of ice.

YEah, that was my guess on the place. Usually always walk away with a couple Jumbos, and, that Eye looks like the one we got last week....

Bragging without telling where you caught them is absolutely within the rules.

But the ice where you caught yours was totally gone when I was there yesterday. There was quite a large open water area in the middle section near the entrance. I am wondering how much ice left after today's high wind.

It is OK. We all come here to look for and share fishing information. I have personally benefited from some who I have never met. That is why there are so many fishermen coming to this great forum. Hope every one enjoys the last couple of week's ice fishing.

WOW, really??? The main ice chuck blew outta there the day we were there, and left open water off the lake side of the dyke. There was a good 18 inches when we were there just last week, so, a chuck may have blew out or something. That would suck if you can't get around where we were, but, right when we moved there, we started nailing the fish....when a spot just about 50 yards away was doing almost nothing.

The ice was thick and safe, but it was the waves that broke the ice into chunks and the wind blew them away. I could feel the shakes of the surface and hear the cracking sound. When I was there the two steel pillars near the entrance were already in water. However, there was still a lot safety ice farther away from the entrance.
If I can finish doing my stuff earlier today, I may go down there and take a look.
For those who want to take a bike to B-dyke, park your vehicles in the south parking lot. The road to the pond from the south parking lot was not that bad.
