Thinking of heading over to Lk Erie this weekend. Just wondering if there are any bait shops in the vicinity of Breast bay? I've never been over that way and with the price of gas now, any less driving around aimlessly would help.
Thanks,
Greg

Dan are you still fishing the Bay i was fishing it a lot but after the ice went out i kinda gave it up. You can only get out to about to 10 ft of water and that is right at the edge of the open water. P.M. me if you are still going Thanks Mike

if you like to get an early start this is the place to go. only one that sells bait in brest bay area. if you go to bolles harbor try erie bait shop if they are open. matthews bait has closed up. even if when they were open you could never rely on it . there were quite a few times i went there to get bait at 7am and there was nobody there. since it has been sold to new owners it has gone downhill. i liked going there but i wont go back until they get it together. heres the number for the state park store : 1790 N. Dixie Hwy.

I called the bait shop earlier this afternoon, by the way, thanks to all of you who supplied phone #'s. The lady said that there was some ice, but it didn't go out very far although a few guys went out. Needless to say i didn't venture out there, but decided to get skunked over by Chelsea on Cedar lake. Normally the action is really good in the morning there, but I couldn't squeeze out this morning. Mabey tomorrow, if the wife lets me ;) !!! Again thanks for the phone #'s everyone.

ice is gone. if your going to fish it you might want to launch the boat.

I should have listened to the fishing Dude. Went out to Breast Bay Sunday to find it open water. Drove through Sterling State park and saw the ducks floating near the boat ramps. Went home and put up the ice fishing equipment for the season. My grandsons 2nd birthday is the 31st, looks like I have time to build him a wagon :) The ones they sell today are all plastic with plastic wheels. I'm going to build him something that he will be comfortable in and me and Grandma can carry picnic supplies in also.
Good luck and be careful.................
