i'd rather set all day and catch a doz. keepers then to pull dinks off.
fished cotten rd. thurs. took the taxi out (what a great service for guy's that have bad body days like myself ) to the left and out aways moved in a couple of times. then there they were, bam 12" right perch off the bat then again, thought it was going to be and even bigger perch but out popped this silver fish didn't no what it was at the time had to come home and check turned out to be silver bass. i caught 4 and everyone was bigger the the one before .
then in the early after noon i heard a 4 wheeler coming my way so i opened my shanty thought at first it was a fisherman coming to see how i was doing, was going to ask them about those silvers and as it got closer i seen it was a gal then i seen the markings on the 4 wheeler ( quick hide the beer ) it was a friendly dnr officer she ask how i was doing and i told her she looked in my bucket and said wow that's a big one. well that mayed my day.
it was fun catching fish again, i mean fish you have to grab with a firm hand to take the hook out. total for the day 4 silver bass released, 12 perch all between 8''-12'' , another 8-10 small perch released and one big ugly released.

Silver bass?? Already? Sure it wasn't a shad? I caught a few out that way before.

buffalo man, sorry I can't help but laugh at "pull dinks off " Why did you have to hide the beer? I always take a sixpack with me on inland lakes and the dnr never says anything, I ask them if they want one and they always say I wish I could, but not right now.

sounds like you had a good day on the lake. Nice catch. Hopefully that is a good sign.

Well first of all them were probally silver bass...... I've seen a few get caught at cotton rd. tis year... and second of all....... Theres fish at cotton.. but a little farther than everyone else is fishing.... and a lot of people are fishing with minnows.... try something differant like a perch eye and maybe a jigging rapala..... i caught a few nicer fish out there last weekend on a pech eye and jiggin rapala... but as for me........ im going to go get ready for the J perch over at lake simcoe.... heading out there tonight:woohoo1: ....... good luck this weekend.....
